In security analytics, examples might include mean time to detect, mean time to respond, percentage of alerts that are actionable, or rate of repeat incidents for the same root cause. The important beginner lesson is that K P I s should reflect impact, not just activity, because activity metrics can look good while real outcomes stay flat. It is easy to report that the system flagged more anomalies, but that might mean nothing if analysts are overwhelmed and true incidents are still missed.
